Dr. Anne Mills, Associate Professor of Pathology<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Congratulations to Anne M. Mills, MD, an associate professor in the Department of Pathology, who was awarded the CAP Lifetime Achievement Award from the College of American Pathologists (CAP) in recognition of her many years of service in pathology and to the CAP.<\/p>\n

Dr. Mills is being honored for her outstanding work over the past 10 years an educator, career and research mentor to many diverse pathology residents and fellows. She is the program director for the School of Medicine\u2019s Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency Program and Gynecologic and Breast Pathology Fellowship Director.<\/p>\n

Dr. Mills is an accomplished pathology researcher, with over 100 publications. Most recently, her published research has highlighted the role of immunotherapeutic biomarkers such as PD-L1 and mismatch repair deficiency in gynecologic and breast cancers. Her research has many clinical implications to the practice of diagnostic pathology in the areas of endometrial cancer, heritable cancer syndromes, and human papillomavirus-associated cervical and vulvar neoplasia.<\/p>\n

Within her extensive list of publications, a remarkable number of mentees have subsequently followed in her footsteps as gynecologic pathologists practicing both in academic and community settings\u2014a lasting contribution to the field.<\/p>\n

Dr. Mills\u2019 commitment to serving the CAP has been extraordinary, as seen through her active roles on CAP committees and expert panels, promotion of CAP events, and support of CAP trainee members.<\/p>\n
