As the second largest department in the School of Medicine by faculty size, the department plays a central role in advancing child health across the region and beyond.

The department is led by Madhusmita Misra, MBBS, MD, MPH, Physician-in-Chief for UVA Children’s and Chair of Pediatrics, alongside a dedicated leadership team committed to strategic growth, operational excellence, and patient-centered care.
