University Based Research Units<\/strong><\/h3>\n

UVA DOPS is one of a limited number of University-based research units in the world investigating similar paranormal phenomena.\u00a0Some of the\u00a0other\u00a0research centers\u00a0are at, theUniversity of Arizona Center for Consciousness Studies<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0the\u00a0University of Edinburgh-Koestler Parapsychology Unit<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0and the University of Hertfordshire in England<\/a><\/strong>. The researchers at the University of Virginia’s unit\u00a0have a special interest in studying the evidence for survival\u00a0of consciousness after death.<\/p>\n

The University of West Georgia<\/a><\/strong> offers\u00a0BS, MA, and PhD degrees. The doctoral program emphasizes \u201cConsciousness and Society<\/a><\/strong>.\u201d\u00a0Their programs incorporate existential, phenomenological, transpersonal, contemplative, critical, sociocultural, feminist, and depth psychologies. They emphasize a human science approach, qualitative methods, community praxis, cultural studies, social justice, consciousness studies, *parapsychology*, human potentiality, and spirituality.<\/p>\n
