As an infectious diseases specialist, Dr. Petri’s lab has focused on several infections of the gastrointestinal system including Entamoeba histolytica, Clostridium difficile, and Cryptosporidiosis. The lab also investigates the impact on childhood development of these enteric infections through our partnership with ICDDR,B; International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh.
