Specifically, my main interest relates to the overgrowth of commensal flora in the upper gastrointestinal tract during a condition called Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO). SIBO is common in children from low-income countries and is part of the multifactorial process of EED but the details of this relationship are poorly understood.
