For this honor, Vlad will receive $500, a certificate, and an engraved Jefferson Cup, all of which will be handed out at the <a href=\"https:\/\/med.virginia.edu\/graduate-biosciences-society\/calendar\/major-events\/\">GBS Symposium on Tuesday, April 10, 2018<\/a>. Vlad is recognized for the scientific merit of his doctoral research, his scientific productivity, the ability to obtain intramural and extramural funding, his academic performance, and his leadership qualities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As recipient of the 2018 Outstanding Pharmacology Graduate Student Award, Vlad will also be the department\u2019s nominee for the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bims.virginia.edu\/michael-j-peach-outstanding-graduate-student-award\/\">Michael J. Peach Outstanding Graduate Student Award<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bims.virginia.edu\/jill-e-hungerford-prize-in-biomedical-sciences\/\">Jill E. Hungerford Prize in Biomedical Sciences<\/a>.
