Congratulations to Rachel Olson, a second year undergraduate in\u00a0Bimal Desai\u2019s Lab<\/a>, for being one of this year\u2019s recipients of the\u00a0Harrison Undergraduate Research Award<\/a>! The Harrison Awards program partner\u2019s students with a faculty mentor for research and provides up to $4000 of funding to pursue new research projects that the students have designed.\u00a0\u00a0In order to be considered for this award, students must develop and submit detailed research proposals for funding to be reviewed by\u00a0the Faculty Senate Research, Teaching and Scholarship\u00a0committee. Under the leadership of their faculty mentors, students have to formulate a research question and propose methods for analyzing it.\u00a0 The selection process is highly competitive and being selected for this award is a testament to the recipient\u2019s ability to\u00a0clearly push the bounds of knowledge and implement careful preparation as well as rigorous design!<\/p>\n

Rachel will use the award to explore \u201cMacrophage Regulation of MCU Complex.\u201d<\/p>\n
