Stephen D. Turner, Ph.D. is the founding director of the UVA School of Medicine Bioinformatics Core, established in 2011. Dr. Turner provides expert bioinformatics, biostatistics, computational biology, and genomics-related data science consulting services, working closely with collaborators in the experimental design and analysis of genome-scale research. With a combined background in biomedical research, statistics, and scientific computing, Dr. Turner’s expertise lies in managing, manipulating, and analyzing large-scale high-dimensional data, and in working with collaborators to turn large data into biomedical insight.
The Bioinformatics Core offers a range of data analysis solutions for research involving gene expression, epigenetics, microbial genomics, metagenomics, and bespoke, custom data analysis. Please see http://bioinformatics.virginia.edu for more details.
