She uses innovative light and electron optical imaging techniques to visualize membrane nanodomains, lipid rafts, and caveolae as platforms for cell signaling in health and disease. She studies how toxins enter cells, how mutations in caveolins cause pulmonary arterial hypertension and breast cancer, and how lipid rafts contribute to the progression of Alzheimer\u2019s disease.
