Mole Day, observed annually on October 23, commemorates the Avogadro constant, which signifies this most important constant in chemistry. Professor Huiwang Ai, PhD, a researcher in the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics and Center for Membrane and Cell Physiology at the University of Virginia, was recognized as an expert during the celebration of National Chemistry Week and Mole Day organized by the American Chemical Society (ACS). This year, ACS hosted a Program-in-a-Box event themed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acs.org\/acs-webinars\/program-in-a-box.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Picture-Perfect Chemistry<\/a>. Dr. Ai was invited to present his work on molecular biosensors and their profound implications in advancing biomedical research.<\/p>\n<p>The event aimed to inspire undergraduate and high school students worldwide, attracting the participation of over 340 groups and an estimated 9,000 attendees from countries around the globe, including the U.S., Nigeria, Ecuador, Japan, and many others.
