Professional Interests: As a first-generation American myself, I am very interested in cultural psychiatry and global mental health. Understanding the social and cultural determinants of psychopathology is crucial to establishing a strong therapeutic alliance and making culturally sensitive care plans with patients and families. I am also interested in child and adolescent psychiatry, first-episode psychosis, and the growing field of interventional psychiatry. I look forward to gaining more experience with each of these subspecialties and possibly pursuing a fellowship after residency at UVA.
