Kristi Ward, MD
Kristi is a fourth year resident and current Chief Resident in Radiation Oncology. She grew up in Houston, TX and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology at the University of Texas at Austin. She went on to attend Paul L. Foster School of Medicine in El Paso, TX for medical school and graduated in 2018. She completed her preliminary year in internal medicine at UVA and is excited to stay at UVA to complete the training in Radiation Oncology.
Kristi chose UVA for residency for the strong clinical experiences, ample research opportunities, and commitment to patient-centered care. She also rotated here as a medical student, and was drawn to an abundant sense of community and family from members of the Department of Radiation Oncology as well as the city of Charlottesville. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new restaurants/wineries/breweries, baking, exercising, traveling, and hiking with her dog June.
