Dr. Taleei joined the Department of Radiation Oncology as a member of the Clinical Physics faculty in 2018. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Medical Radiation Physics, from the Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. Prior to joining UVA, he was a medical physics resident at The University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center. He supports the University of Virginia Health System, Department of Radiation Oncology, in a wide range of special procedures and external beam treatment techniques with emphasis on modeling cellular damage induced by radiation and its application in cancer treatment. He is interested in developing radiobiological mechanistic models that can be employed in brachytherapy, particle therapy, and SBRT treatments.
