IR-Integrated

Hi! I’m Amy, one of the IR-integrated residents. After 29 years in Milwaukee WI, I wanted to try living literally anywhere else for residency. UVA felt like a great fit, offering a strong DR program, a collaborative relationship between IR and Vascular Surgery, an IR technologist training program, an emphasis on clinic (don’t get me wrong, it’s still IR – clinic is extremely reasonable), and dedicated teams to help shoulder the workload – e.g. Vascular Access Team of RNs to attempt PICCs on the floor so we’re not drowning in lines. That said, the biggest draw here was the ease of every interaction during my interview, and I’ll still attest that the culture the people here have built is hard to beat. Seriously, every program has RadPrimer and book funds and neat work stations, but you really can’t go wrong going where the vibes are right.

When I’m not at work and not visiting my PGY-1 husband Chris in New Orleans I play videogames (mostly FPS), bake, read (on a fantasy kick, recs welcome), and find new spots to eat. Always down for a movie or 80s cover band. I love animals (show me your pets!!) and currently live with the least exciting of our three cats.
