Ashley Barry, MD
Rush Medical College
IR-Integrated
Hi! I am Ashley and I am from Chicago, IL. I was introduced to interventional radiology through my mentors at Rush Medical College and fell in love with all that the field can offer our patients. Looking to branch outside of the Midwest, I did several away rotations in IR as a 4th year medical student, one of which was right here at UVA. I remember quickly falling in love with how peaceful it felt to be surrounded by so much nature and all of the genuinely kind people I met throughout the city of Charlottesville. Not to mention immediately feeling right at home amongst the IR and radiology faculty while being involved in and learning about the huge variety of procedures that UVA can offer its patients.
When I’m not at the hospital I’m usually spending time with my husband and our 2 cats (Hermione and Athena) or catching up with one of my 4 younger siblings. Other than getting excellent training over these next several years, I am mostly looking forward to planning future travel (ask me about planning a future trip to see Machu Picchu) and showing friends and family from back home how beautiful Virginia is!
