I’m Jake Riccio and I’m from Chandler, Arizona and attended Rush Medical College in Chicago. My journey to medicine began with my time as a surgical technologist in the Navy and has brought me to writing this paragraph. I came to UVA because they are the number one interventional radiology program in the nation and will make me the best physician that I can be one day. I am forever grateful to them for believing in me. The wonderful city and having an aunt and uncle in Charlottesville helped to solidify my decision.

Some things I enjoy include Theology, Languages, History, Physics, Glioblastoma, and Sports (especially the New York Yankees). I hope to begin building a family while in residency and to one day develop methods to improve existing treatments to make the lives of patients better. I’m honored to be a resident at UVA and hopefully will not let them down. Wahoowa!
