UVA Radiology Chair Alan Matsumoto, MD<\/p><\/div>\n

The University of Virginia’s Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging celebrated the leadership of Alan Matsumoto, MD, at the annual reception for alumni and friends on November 28 during the 2023 Radiology Society of North America Annual Meeting in Chicago.<\/p>\n

During the event, the Alan H. Matsumoto, MD, and Julie A. Matsumoto, MD, Endowed Fund<\/a> was announced. The fund will advance innovation, clinical programs, and education in diagnostic and interventional radiology and imaging sciences at the University of Virginia. The department has invested $1.4 million into this project and will match all contributions to the fund up to $800,000. Donations to the fund can be made here.<\/a><\/p>\n

Dr. Matsumoto, who has served as chair of the department since 2009, will step down at the end of December. The department will welcome Colin Derdeyn, MD \u201988, as its new chair on January 2, 2024.<\/p>\n
