The award was presented by Jay Fox, PhD, who serves as director of the Office of Research Core Administration.<\/p>\n<p>As one of the UVA School of Medicine\u2019s 19 research cores, the core supports research specifically in molecular imaging. Since 2017, the core has provided investigators with access to high-quality radiopharmaceuticals that can be imaged by Positron Emission Tomography (PET) method for pre-clinical and clinical needs. The core has undergone significant evolution in recent years: including the commissioning a cyclotron and several functionality changes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shivashankar Khanapur, PhD<\/strong>, associate professor of radiology and medical imaging, serves as the core\u2019s director.
