This week, IR-Integrated radiology resident Sandeep “Sunny” Murthy, MD, MS, received a UVA award to recognize his excellence in teaching medical students.<\/p>\n

Dr. Murthy is a winner of the annual Mulholland Resident and Fellow Teaching Award, which recognizes formal and informal teaching during medical students’ pre-clerkships, clerkships, and 4th-year electives. Elaine Taylor, the president of the UVA School of Medicine’s student government organization the Mulholland Society, presented Dr. Murthy with the award during Wednesday’s noon conference.<\/p>\n

It’s a full-circle moment for Dr. Murthy, who graduated from UVA’s School of Medicine and was himself taught by past UVA residents and fellows. Now he continues the pattern as a PGY-2 resident in the department’s Interventional Radiology Integrated Residency.<\/p>\n
