{"id":164,"date":"2015-08-26T14:22:49","date_gmt":"2015-08-26T18:22:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/med.virginia.edu\/rheumatology\/?page_id=164"},"modified":"2025-10-14T16:13:27","modified_gmt":"2025-10-14T20:13:27","slug":"application-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/med.virginia.edu\/rheumatology\/fellowship_education\/application-information\/","title":{"rendered":"Application Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 class=\"documentFirstHeading\"><\/h1>\n<div id=\"parent-fieldname-text\">\n<h4>There are two fellowship positions open for the academic period of July 2019\u00a0to June 2021.<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Recommended Deadline for applications is July 31, 2019.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Please note:\u00a0<strong>Our program does not sponsor H1B visas.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Applications can be submitted after July 1, 2019; we advise submission prior to July 15; after that date, we begin\u00a0contacting applicants for interview invitations and scheduling.<\/li>\n<li>Interviews are conducted from mid-August through October, primarily on Wednesdays.<\/li>\n<li>Interview scheduling is done via e-mail.<\/li>\n<li>The NRMP Rank Order list opens in mid-October and closes in mid-November; match Day is December 4, 2019.<\/li>\n<li>Priority is given to applicants with an interest in academic rheumatology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Applications are considered complete when the following are submitted to ERAS:<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>Curriculum vitae<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Personal statement<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Dean&#8217;s letter, Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE), or original transcript<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>Three letters of recommendation, including one from applicant&#8217;s internal medicine residency program director<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX) scores<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>For foreign applicants, certification from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Applications will be reviewed when all the above documentations has been\u00a0submitted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Links<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aamc.org\/services\/eras\/\">ERAS<\/a> <strong>&#8211;<\/strong> Electronic Residency Application Service<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nrmp.org\/\">NRMP<\/a> <strong>&#8211;<\/strong> National Resident Matching Program<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>UVA Housestaff<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/med.virginia.edu\/gme\/salary-benefits\/\">Stipend and Benefit Information<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are two fellowship positions open for the academic period of July 2019\u00a0to June 2021.
