“Proteoform Medicine” Published in Nature Reviews Genetics

We’re excited to share that our lab’s review, Proteoform medicine: characterizing and targeting protein forms in human disease, has been published in Nature Reviews Genetics (27, 271–291, 2026). Led by graduate student Jennifer Korchak, the review lays out the case for “proteoform medicine” — the idea that the diverse protein forms arising from genetic variation, alternative splicing, and post-translational modifications are a crucial and largely uncharted link between genotype and phenotype in human disease. The work was a collaboration with Nidhi Sahni (Baylor), Neil Kelleher (Northwestern), and Stephen Yi (Baylor).
