UVA Surgery residents earned top honors at the Virginia Chapter of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Resident Paper Competition, showcasing the strength of the department’s resident research program.
Mackenzie Mayhew, MD, received first place for her presentation, “Beyond BMI: Association of Artificial Intelligence-Derived CT Body Composition with Survival in Melanoma Treated with BRAF/MEK Inhibitors.”
Prisca Obidike, MD, earned second place for her study, “Pre-Operative Endocrine Therapy Preserves Health-Related Quality of Life in the POWER Trial.”
