Prisca Obidike, MD

Hello! I’m Prisca Obidike. I was born in Newark, New Jersey, but moved to Nigeria with my family as a child. Growing up in Nigeria allowed me to fully experience the food, music, art, and culture that shaped who I am and helped spark my interest in medicine. I later returned to the U.S. to attend college at Lincoln University, PA, and medical school at Penn State, PA. 

I’m thrilled to be part of the UVA General Surgery family because of its exceptional clinical training, supportive relationships, and strong sense of community. Outside the hospital, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two cats, Charlotte and Richmond—yes, named after cities—being outdoors, trying new recipes, and watching the Eagles play. Go Birds!
