Minutes Reviewed/Accepted. The Committee voted unanimously to approve the minutes from the August 31 2020 meeting.

Step 2 CK Final Reports for 2020. Results were shared and discussed. UVA students continue to perform well as compared to their national counterparts.

Curricular Calendars. The current calendars were presented for discussion and review since several curricular revisions were necessary due to the onset of COVID-19. These included the Class of 2024’s 4-year curriculum schemata, the Class of 2023’s pre-clerkship schedule for 2019-2021, the Class of 2022’s clerkship schedule for 2020-2021 and the Class of 2021’s elective schedule for 2020-2021.

Summative Examinations Update. Dr. Bray offered an update on the most recent summative examinations in which two classes tested simultaneously. Precautions were taken to ensure adequate space was provided in order to be compliant with social distancing requirements. The examinations were administered successfully and no issues were noted from students.

Clerkship Review Revisions. Drs. Megan Bray and Elizabeth Bradley presented the updated clerkship review forms. Due to COVID-19 and the temporary furlough of clerkships in the spring, the clerkship review process will alter this year. In order to assist the directors with their preparation, much of the existing information will be provided via hyperlinks embedded within the evaluation forms. The data provided will help to outline the changes that took place in clerkships due to COVID and provide information that could inform the plans for curricular change for 2021-2022.  The updates were discussed and members agreed this method was appropriate considering the circumstances.

Note: The next Curriculum Committee meeting is scheduled, Monday, September 21, 2020.
