MD Program
The University of Virginia School of Medicine strives to attract, motivate, and guide a talented student body on their journey to becoming tomorrow’s healthcare leaders. Our students thrive in an environment that emphasizes collaboration, hands-on experiences, research and scholarship, service to others and quality patient care.
Our approach blends rigorous academic standards with the nurturing spirit of a close-knit community. We provide training and opportunities that instill compassion, technical ability and a lifelong thirst for knowledge.
Student AffairsLearn MoreThe Office of Student Affairs supports students throughout medical school and into their careers. The Deans of Student Affairs provide personal, academic, and professional guidance across all four years. The office coordinates tutoring, disability accommodations, certifications, scheduling, and registrar services, while also offering career advising and residency match support.
Combined Degree ProgramsLearn MoreThe MD curriculum allows interested students to pursue an additional degree in several available programs while reducing the overall time required to complete both degrees. Students typically apply to the additional degree program during Phase 2 of the medical school curriculum. If accepted, they integrate the additional coursework into Phase 3 and graduate with both degrees.
