Abigail Antoine, a Cell and Developmental Biology PhD student working in the laboratory of Dr. Brant Isakson (Department of Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics) has been awarded a highly competitive National Research Service Award (NRSA) from the NIH for her project entitled: “Pannexin-3 channels in endothelial-derived vasodilation”. Her work is part of a major research effort at the SoM on Pannexins in Health and Disease: https://pannexins.med.virginia.edu/ which is funded by a Research Program project Grant from the NIH national Heart, Lung and Blood Institute.
