About
Lian-Wang Guo
My pre- and post-doctoral research focused on light-sensitive proteins in the chloroplast and retina. I started my vascular biology lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and then moved to The Ohio State University, before joining the UVA Department of Surgery with joint appointments in the Departments of Physiology (MPBP) and Ophthalmology. I am a member of the Robert M Berne Cardiovascular Research Center and a fellow of the American Heart Association. Our lab aims to uncover the epigenetic mechanisms behind vascular and retinal diseases, with the ultimate goal of translating our findings into clinical treatments. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking and traveling.
