We are a growing group of over 40 academic hospitalists with a strong foundation of excellence in clinical medicine and medical education. Our goals are to serve as experts in the care of hospitalized adults, to teach learners at all levels of medical education, and to promote excellence in quality improvement and patient safety.
Clinicians enjoy practicing in a 600-bed quaternary care hospital in Central Virginia that serves Charlottesville’s urban and suburban communities and the surrounding rural areas. As a division, we commit to maintaining challenging and rewarding clinical roles while allowing individuals to pursue their academic interests. Our academic practice provides faculty with a diverse mixture of traditional teaching wards, co-management of oncology and orthopedic surgical patients, and direct care clinical services.
