Research Description
Dr. Gwaltney has worked in the area of upper respiratory infections, sinusitis, and influenza vaccine research, and is recognized as an authority on the common cold. His current work has a particular focus on new treatments of colds and sinusitis employing antiviral and antimediatordrugs. His studies on CT scanning of the nasal passages, ostiomeatal complex, and sinuses continue to prove to be very valuable in better understanding the pathogenesis of colds and evaluating cold treatments.
