Research Interests
Data management and analysis for scientific endeavors, particularly X-ray crystallography.
Research Description
Although I still determine structures using X-ray crystallography, I am currently primarily involved in the development of a new generation of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to track experimental procedures and parameters for the biophysical characterization of macromolecules. Scientific reproducibility depends on the availability of the protocols, data, and necessary meta-data necessary to conduct experiments. The LIMS we are developing is designed with flexibility in mind and will be able to manage experimental samples and workflows for all the experimental steps of a structural biology pipeline, from initial cloning to deposition of refined structures into the PDB.
