Data Requests
Submit your request for health record data: Research Data Request Intake page
What We Do
Researchers may want to view or analyze health record data at various stages of a clinical research process. The RCTA Data Extraction team offers services and support to help identify, locate, extract and report patient health data for your research efforts. Our team is able to help researchers:
- Refine patient cohort definitions and associated research queries.
- Determine counts and other measures to assist with pre-research feasibility analysis.
- Investigate availability of wide scope of data elements, from simple, deterministic Yes-No type responses, to indications of complex diagnoses found in free-form physicians’ notes.
- Efficiently identify and merge data from various and disparate data sources within UVA Health system.
- Securely report data in variety of formats and platforms.
- Provide (limited) data support for retrospective studies reaching back prior to current EPIC platform, to early 1990s for basic clinical data.
- Augment your research efforts already independently developed in Slicer Dicer or TriNetx self-serve tools.
Process
Researchers may submit a request for detailed identified or de-identified data to RCTA. After initial consultation, our team will develop a level-of-effort / cost estimate and submit for your review and approval. Once approved, RCTA team member will be assigned to fulfill your request. Upon completion, an invoice will be generated and sent to you.
