Biomolecular Magnetic Resonance Facility description

The Biomolecular Magnetic Resonance Facility is available to all investigators at the University of Virginia and has six NMR spectrometers.

They all execute experiments typically used for structure elucidation and dynamics characterization of both small and large (ie. protein) molecules in solution.

The Bruker Avance III 600 has an automatic sample changer which can handle up to 480 samples.

All spectrometers are connected to the internet and most can be run remotely.

Data can be readily transferred for remote processing and the campus has a site license for Mestrenova NMR data processing and visualization software.

Advice on all aspects of solution NMR spectroscopy is available from the facility manager, Jeff Ellena.
