How much Meal Money do I receive?
The tiers were determined by calculating the average amount of time spent in-house, by program and PGY Level, per month. Money will be loaded onto your meal cards in a set amount at the beginning of the academic year, and any funds remaining at the end of the year will rollover to the next year, as long as you are appointed to a GME position. You will not be able to exchange remaining meal money for cash on any remaining balance upon graduation and/or termination from UVA. The procedure for purchasing your meals remain the same; you need to present your UVA badge to the Cashier as you go through the check out at the Hospital Cafeterias.

UVA Intramural and Recreational Program
Residents are eligible to join the UVA Intramural and Recreational Sports leagues as Medical Center employees. Membership allows access to all gyms on grounds and half off rentals of all outdoor equipment. Membership is $320/year or payroll deduction of $16 made in 20 payments. The UVA Intramural leagues (basketball, soccer, etc) are available to members, but there are summer leagues (softball and possibly sand volleyball coming summer 2018) open to all Medical Center employees through UTeam.
Yoga Class
A Stress-Reduction Yoga class for all UVA employees is offered every Wednesday from 5:30-6:30pm in Quale Conference Room (1st Floor of the Battle Building). The Class is drop-in and free to all employees/trainees. Yoga mats, blocks, yoga blankets and straps are offered if you do not have your own.
