The Neurofibromatosis Research Program (NFRP) was established in 1996 when the efforts of NF advocates led to congressional appropriation to fund research in NF. The Early Investigator Research Award supports NF-focused research opportunities for individuals in the early stages of their careers, under the guidance of a designated mentor.
