Dr. Denis Tebit, Assistant Professor of Research at the Myles Thaler Center for AIDS and Human Retroviruses, Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Cancer Biology, was recently awarded a Fellowship by the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program to travel to South Africa to work in collaboration with the University of Venda (Univen) to develop and improve protocols to study the genotypic and phenotypic drug resistance and fitness of HIV-1 strains circulating in South Africa.
