April 29, 2022 by zrb8mf@virginia.edu

Dr. Erin Weddle, from Hervé Agaisse’s laboratory, has been selected as the 2022 MIC Outstanding Student. Erin will also represent the MIC Graduate Program as our nominee for the Peach and Hungerford Awards. She will join outstanding students from the other BIMS Graduate Programs at the GBS Symposium in mid-May, 2022. There, each student will present a seminar, and the Peach and Hungerford Awards will be announced. Please join us in congratulating Erin!
In addition to Erin, there were five other exceptional students who were nominated this year.

Allie Donlan (Mentor: Bill Petri)
Rachel Ende (Mentor: Isabelle Derré)
Dane Sessions (Mentor: David Kashatus)
Jon Suzich (Mentor: Anna Cliffe)
Ray Zeng (Mentor: Hui Zong)

The MIC Academic Advisory Committee was unanimous in their belief that all six candidates are truly outstanding young scientists. Please join me us congratulating each of the nominees and their mentors for contributing to the quality of the research and training in our Department!
