Cryogenic Storage and Freezer Storage

The MITS Core can cryogenically store samples for short- or long-term needs.  We have a sample database and will bank and inventory samples for studies and track sample collection for clinical trials. We can receive and bank shipments for multi-site clinical trial studies, and ship samples to other sites fast and efficiently. Inventory reports are available for investigators.

Additionally, we offer banking and storage services for specimens that require storage in -20C and -80C freezers. We routinely inventory, bank and store serum, plasma and Paxgene tubes for investigator studies.

All MITS core freezers are on emergency backup power and are monitored by UVA System Control. In the event of a freezer malfunction, staff are alerted by phone call and text message and will respond quickly to prevent sample loss.
