Since its inception in the summer of 1967, the Mulholland Society has served as the UVa School of Medicine’s coherent student voice. Collectively, the organization’s goals are two-fold. First, the Society looks outward, endeavoring to promote the various interests and concerns of all medical students to the faculty and staff of the health system and the University and Charlottesville community at large. Second, the Society looks inward, seeking to provide an outlet for the academic, social, athletic, and personal interests. The Mulholland Society is named in honor of the late Dr. Henry Bearden Mulholland, a distinguished figure in American medicine and a member of the faculty from 1917 to 1962.

The Mulholland Society also manages our school Instagram page, so go check it out at @uvaschoolofmedicine! We like to keep you up to date on our student activities, give you inside looks into student life with Instagram takeovers, and highlight special events throughout the year! All Instagram takeover slots have been filled for the 2023-2024 academic year, so keep an eye out for an email about 2024-2025 openings.
