Strang Neuroscience Research Award

About

As an expression of gratitude for the support he received during his early professional life, Howard Strang and his wife, Alice, have made generous gifts to UVA School of Medicine to establish the Strang Neuroscience Research Award. The intent of this award is to provide seed money for young scientists to investigate traumatic brain injuries, stem cell therapies, and Alzheimer’s disease. The Strang family funded the award with a particular interest in applications of the research for military veterans returning with head injuries, children with brain disorders, or seniors suffering from the effects of aging. The Strang endowment will give UVA’s young scientists a chance to study new ideas and collect initial data that will make them more competitive for major federal grants. The endowment will support two junior researchers each year.
