We are deeply saddened by the loss of Joseph Larner, Professor Emeritus of Pharmacology, who passed away on January 28, 2014. Dr. Larner maintained an active role in the department well into his retirement — he faithfully attended our annual retreats (and could be seen playing football with our graduate students) and regularly attended our weekly Journal Clubs and Seminars, until a month before his death. He will be missed by many. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on March 23, 2014 at the UVA Chapel. Please see his obituary for more info on his life and amazing contributions as well as for details regarding the memorial service.
