Thurl Harris was recently appointed as the Director of Graduate Studies (DGS) for Pharmacology; his appointment is effective immediately. He replaces Paula Barrett, who has served the faculty, students, and program exceedingly well in the DGS position since 2002. As DGS, Dr. Harris will lead the Pharmacology Graduate Committee and will continue to be a great advocate for students. We are extremely appreciative that Dr. Barrett is handing the program over to him in such good shape, and we’re confident that he will maintain the academic and scientific rigor we expect of our program, as well as be a strong representative of our interests within BIMS. Please congratulate Dr. Harris for taking on this new role and offer your gratitude to Dr. Barrett for all of her time and effort over the last 13 years.
