Congratulations to Rachel Olson, a second year undergraduate in Bimal Desai’s Lab, for being one of this year’s recipients of the Harrison Undergraduate Research Award! The Harrison Awards program partner’s students with a faculty mentor for research and provides up to $4000 of funding to pursue new research projects that the students have designed. In order to be considered for this award, students must develop and submit detailed research proposals for funding to be reviewed by the Faculty Senate Research, Teaching and Scholarship committee. Under the leadership of their faculty mentors, students have to formulate a research question and propose methods for analyzing it. The selection process is highly competitive and being selected for this award is a testament to the recipient’s ability to clearly push the bounds of knowledge and implement careful preparation as well as rigorous design!
Rachel will use the award to explore “Macrophage Regulation of MCU Complex.”
Please congratulate Rachel and Dr. Desai when you see them around!
