The Department of Pharmacology will soon be welcoming a new faculty member, Dr. Edward Horng-An Nieh, as he begins to set up his lab. The primary goal of the lab will be to understand the neural code underlying the generation of different motivated behaviors (e.g. feeding, drinking, and social interaction), with a focus on how malfunction in associated brain areas are involved in diseases like drug addiction and eating disorders. He is beginning to hire his lab team now, and the application can be found here.
