Margaret Grant grew up in New England and obtained her BS in Chemistry from Brown University. In May 2018, she received her PhD in Microbiology from the University of Virginia, working under the supervision of Dr. Dean Kedes and Dr. Mitch Smith. For her PhD, Margaret investigated the protein tethering mechanism of Kaposi’s Sarcoma-Associated Herpesvirus using superresolution microscopy. Margaret joined the Tamm Lab in July 2018 and is currently studying outer membrane proteins of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
