ImmunoPET Imaging

Immunotherapies have emerged as promising strategies for treating many malignant neoplasms, including glioblastoma. The blood brain/tumor barriers (BBB/BTB) pose a persistent challenge for immunotherapy delivery, but these may be overcome by focused ultrasound (FUS)-mediated BBB/BTB disruption. Investigators in the UVA Focused Ultrasound Cancer Immunotherapy Center leverage Immuno-PET imaging to measure immunotherapeutic drug and cell delivery to treated tumors.
