Join us in welcoming our newest faculty member. Mike Guertin comes to us following a very successful postdoctoral research experience with Gordon Hager at the NIH and a productive PhD sojourn in the John Lis laboratory (Cornell). Mike’s research interests are transcription factor binding in regulation of gene expression and application of epigenomics to human disease for future therapy development. Specifically, using molecular genomics approaches, his current research focuses on the investigation of regulatory cascades initiated by hormone signaling, including estrogen signaling in breast cancer and glucocorticoid-induced apoptosis in acute lymphocytic leukemia cells. Following an extremely competitive nationwide search, we are both delighted and very excited as Mike immerses himself in the research endeavors of the BMG department and UVa community.
