“Clinical research has the power to change lives. Novel cancer therapeutics offer improved outcomes and better quality of life for individuals with cancer. Innovative vaccine production techniques improve outcomes from infectious disease. Cross collaboration across schools may result in better heart valves, novel techniques for joint replacement, targeted imaging, and more. The exploration of data opportunities will make a significant impact on public health opportunities, preventative health care, and reaching those populations of individuals that we have previously not been able to reach. These are only a few examples of how clinical research can improve human health and human lives.
To be successful, compliant, and safe, clinical research requires a robust infrastructure. The Clinical Trials Unit is thrilled to be able to provide that infrastructure and support for all clinical researchers throughout the University of Virginia and UVA Health. We continue to build our resources to serve ALL clinical researchers, from the new investigator to the most experienced. We highly encourage everyone to explore the resources our office has to offer and to let us be a part of making your project not only successful but efficient, timely and financially feasible. As we continue to develop and grow, we also appreciate and solicit your feedback as we work to make our office work for you.
Clinical research is the future of health. The Clinical Trials Unit is proud to support all clinical research across UVA Health, the University, and ultimately the state of Virginia. We celebrate the incredible value of all of our clinical researchers. Please enjoy this inaugural edition of our newsletter”.
