The Office of Continuing Medical Education of University of Virginia School of Medicine provides a wide variety of educational and performance/quality improvement opportunities in primary care, medical specialties and interprofessional care that incorporate cutting edge research, faculty expertise to address:

• Population health issues
• Complex clinical and health care challenges
• Optimum clinician and team performance
• Lifelong learning and the education continuum

Through our collaborations with the UVA School of Nursing, healthcare systems and professional organizations, we provide community outreach; regional, national and global conferences; telemedicine; web-based and television learning initiatives. We strive to utilize creative and innovative strategies to link lifelong learning with clinical competence and maintenance of certification.

The School of Medicine, Accredited with Commendation by the ACCME since 1984 and the School of Nursing accredited by the ANCC since 2014 are now collaborating as a Joint Accreditation Provider.
