iLab

What is iLab?

ORCA is committed to providing researchers with the tools they need to succeed. The iLab system is designed to streamline the management of core lab services, making it easier for you to focus on your research.

iLab is an integrated, web-based management system that facilitates the administration of research cores and shared resources. It simplifies the process of booking equipment, requesting services, managing billing, and tracking usage.

Getting Started

For New iLab Member Accounts:

  1. Please log in to iLab using the following link: https://uva.corefacilities.org/account/login.
  2. Utilize your UVA credentials to log in.
  3. During your initial login, select the research group that you wish to join. A membership request will be sent to the PI. Note: Research groups follow a standard naming convention ” PI Last Name, First Name (UVA) Lab”
  4. If the desired lab is not displayed then it will need to be created first, please contact ilab_support@virginia.edu

For New iLab Principal Investigator Accounts:

  1. Please log in to iLab using the following link: https://uva.corefacilities.org/account/login.
  2. Utilize your UVA credentials to log in.
  3. During your initial login, select “PI registration (UVA) Lab” option.
  4. After completing the registration process, a member of the UVA iLab Support team will follow up with you. They will guide you through the next steps, including adding team members to your newly created lab and incorporating funding sources. When providing funding information please include the full Worktag.
