Documentation of scholarship
Please review detailed information below based on your faculty track and promotion action. There are three categories:
- AI, CI, CE, and RF-I Tracks: applies to all P&T actions
- RF-S and IF Tracks: applies to promotions to associate professor only; CF Track: applies to all promotions
- RF-S and IF Tracks: applies to promotions to full professor only
1. AI, CI, CE, and RF-I Tracks (applies to all P&T actions)
For tracks that require peer-reviewed published scholarship (AI, CI, CE, and RF-I), you are required to submit three publications as PDFs and include a brief explanation of their significance and why you selected them. The publications should have arisen from your studies performed since your last P&T review or, if this is your first promotion, the beginning of your faculty position. Examples of scholarship include, but are not limited to: publication, preferably as first or corresponding author, of original substantive work in high quality peer-reviewed journals. For team science, publications as middle author with significant contribution in collaborative projects are also recognized. Award of patents, clinical observations, case series or reviews in peer-reviewed journals; textbooks or chapters; and teaching materials. Local and regional impact on a clinical field or an area of education, evidenced by dissemination of innovative and/or original work in the mission area. If a selected publication is a book, please provide two copies, if an electronic version is not available. They will be returned.
2. RF-S and IF Tracks (promotions to associate professor only); CF Track (all promotions)
For tracks that require scholarship but not necessarily published work (RF-S & IF to associate; CF to associate and professor) unless stated in your position statement, you are required to submit up to three scholarly products as PDFs. Briefly explain their significance and why you selected them. The scholarly products should have arisen from work performed since your last P&T review or, if this is your first promotion, the beginning of your faculty position. Examples of scholarship include, but are not limited to: presentations of original and innovative work at regional and national meetings, creation and presentation of workshops to advance the skills of colleagues. Participation in working groups producing reports, position papers, guidelines, and/or recommendations for future research. Publication of original work, case series, educational materials, reviews, specialty books, textbooks (as author or editor), patents, etc. Participation by invitation to professional conferences, symposia, meetings and/or special lectures is also considered. If a selected publication is a book, please provide two copies, if an electronic version is not available. They will be returned.
3. RF-S and IF Tracks (promotions to full professor only)
Because this action requires peer-reviewed published scholarship, you are required to submit three publications as PDFs and include a brief explanation of their significance and why you selected them. The publications should have arisen from your studies performed since your last P&T review or, if this is your first promotion, the beginning of your faculty position. Examples of scholarship include, but are not limited to: publication, preferably as first or corresponding author, of original substantive work in high quality peer-reviewed journals. If a selected publication is a book, please provide two copies, if an electronic version is not available. They will be returned.
